Nothing is at present known about Mrs. T. Mitchell, author of Gleanings from Travel and the book itself gives away little personal information.

The inspected copy has no date on the title page and is dated through internal evidence, but a review in Freeman’s Journal for 26 September 1846 gives the date as 1846 (see also Ingelbien 56n125). This would place Gleanings outside the purview of this database; it remains, however, until the date of publication can be substantiated further.
